Underfloor heating (UFH) provides an even, comfortable warmth that is particularly effective under hard floor coverings such as tiles, LVT and engineered wood. There are two main systems: electric (dry) UFH uses heating mats or cables laid beneath the floor; water (wet) UFH uses pipes connected to the central heating system.
Electric UFH is simpler to install and ideal for single rooms or retrofits, particularly under tiles in bathrooms and kitchens. Water UFH is more cost-efficient to run but requires more disruptive installation involving screed or a low-profile manifold system. Both must be installed before any floor covering goes down.
Electric UFH: £50–£100 per m² supply and installed. Water UFH: £80–£150 per m² including screed, significantly more for a whole-house installation.

“Had three quotes within a day for our new kitchen floor. The fitter we chose laid the LVT perfectly — tight joins, level finish, no lippage at all. Really impressed with the whole process.”
“Used the service for engineered wood throughout the ground floor. Had local flooring fitters contacting me the same day. Work was done to a very high standard and the quote was very competitive.”
“Getting quotes for our full house carpet was so easy. The fitter was punctual, moved the furniture, took care with the gripper rods and the finished result looks fantastic. Great value.”
