Subfloor levelling, self-levelling screed and floor preparation to create a perfect flat base for any new floor covering. Compare up to 3 free quotes — no obligation.
A level, solid subfloor is the foundation of any quality flooring installation. Uneven floors cause hollow spots, movement in click joints, premature wear and — in worst cases — flooring failure. Self-levelling compound is the most common solution for concrete floors: it flows to fill low spots and creates a perfectly flat surface within hours.
For timber floors, squeaky or uneven boards should be screwed down and high spots planed. For larger unevenness, a plywood overlay provides a flat, stable base. Floor levelling is often combined with damp-proof membrane application on ground floors before any wood-based covering is laid.
£5–£20 per m² for self-levelling compound and labour, depending on depth required. Plywood overlay costs £8–£15 per m² fitted.
